Opportunities provided by the
network
As EYPs in Lincolnshire grow
in number it is essential that we continually expand their
professional knowledge and experience, the EYP Network provides the
perfect avenue to do this.
Through the network EYPs
benefit from opportunities including:
- Sharing good practice with others through network meetings. –
Each meeting involves a ‘Sharing Effective Practice’ section during
which members have the opportunity to network with one another and
share ideas on a given subject.
- Visiting other settings to give and receive advice and guidance
on a particular area of the framework - In 2009 the network began a
programme of paired setting visits for EYPs to visit one another to
provide advice, guidance and support.
- Visiting centres of excellence such as the Pen Green research
base and the Early Excellence Centre in Huddersfield to gain an
insight into the practice of others
- Accessing Continual Professional Development on specific areas
of practice such as Forest Schools and Schema.
- EYPs sharing their particular training needs and areas of
expertise so whatever training is planned is targeted to particular
needs.
- Opportunities to present at network meetings and share specific
areas of best practice with colleagues
- Opportunities to attend conferences and exhibitions.
The network belongs to the members and so
plans for its future development are made based on continual member
feedback and requests.
