Birth to Five Service - Senior Management Team

Muriel George
Principal Adviser (School Improvement Partner - Primary)

Principal Inspector with CfBT whose responsibilities include Leadership and Management of Primary Schools and the Birth to Five Service. She has taught in London and Lincolnshire and has experience of Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Before joining the Local Authority, Muriel had substantial management experience as Deputy Headteacher, Acting Headteacher and Headteacher and spent a year at Nottingham University as a teacher fellow. She has worked in a variety of roles within the Local Authority  which includes working as an Advisory Headteacher, Head of Primary Assessment Team, Primary Adviser and Senior Inspector and School Improvement Partner.

Her current responsibilities include managing the Birth to Five Service and all aspects of Leadership Development which includes training and support for senior and middle managers in schools. She also works with a team to develop different approaches to the leadership of schools including federations, executive headships and the use of the Primary Interim Headteacher Team. Since October 2006, she has had strategic responsibility for the  Birth to Five Service in Lincolnshire and is very proud of the team and their work.

Stephanie Douglas
Head of Birth to Five Service 

Head of Birth to Five Service with CfBT, Ofsted inspector and School Improvement Partner. Dedicated to improving outcomes for the young children of Lincolnshire by effective implementation of excellence in policy and practice. As an early years teacher and a headteacher, committed to managing and facilitating excellent care and learning experiences. Worked in a number of schools across Lincolnshire for twenty years, including ten years of Headship and eight years as an Adviser. Experience includes Teacher Training, HMI studies on financial managements, lecturing for educational bodies and developing early reading materials. Addressed Regional and National Conferences on a range of educational issues.

Jill Brewster

Lead Early Years Welfare Consultant

Welfare Team Co-ordinator, with fifteen years experience, Jill co-ordinates EYFS welfare support for providers across the county. Qualifications include NVQ in Early Years & Education, Adult Teaching, ICT and Leadership and Management. Experience regarding delivering Early Years training, the development of sustainable Children’s Centres, leading and mentoring Childcare Teams and managing a team of Development Officers. Jill has worked across North East Lincolnshire, Nottingham City and Lincolnshire. Particular interests include Leadership & Management, supporting provision for under 3s and safeguarding.

Zoe CoxZoe Cox
Lead Adviser - Inclusion

Early Years Support Service Teacher (west team leader), supporting staff in non-maintained Early Years Settings.  Fourteen years experience teaching in both mainstream schools and specialist units with children aged 2-7years in Somerset, Bristol and Lincolnshire.  Experience as primary school SENCo, KS1 music, ICT and maths co-ordinators.  School Governor for 3 years.  Currently studying for MEd in Special Education (autism children) at Birmingham University.

 

Angela FlemingLyn Challender
 Lead Adviser - Maintained Settings

Lyn joined the Birth to Five Service in July 2009. A teacher in the Primary Phase for 7 years in York, Leeds and North East Lincolnshire, she has had 2 Deputy Headships and experience as a Primary SENCO.  Lyn was Head Teacher of a Maintained Nursery School, Early Excellence Centre and Sure Start Children’s Centre for 6 years in North East Lincolnshire and has more recently worked in Integrated Children’s Services within Lincolnshire County Council as a Children’s Services Team Manager.  She holds the NPQH and NPQICL.

 

Claire LoganClaire Logan 
 Lead Adviser - Private, Voluntary and Independent Settings (PVI)

A Marketing and Modern Languages graduate with a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, focusing on the 3-8 primary age range. Experience teaching across Foundation Stage , Key Stage One and Two in Doncaster, East Riding and Lincolnshire, including mixed age. Experience leading curriculum development throughout school and  Beacon Status Program.
Sue OtterSue Otter
Early Years Workforce Development Manager 

The role of the Early Years Workforce Development Manager is to develop and manage a quality training strategy relating to all early years and childcare providers across Lincolnshire, in line with KEEP (Key Elements of Effective Practice) and the outcomes of Every Child Matters. 
Ensuring the production of the annual Early Years Training Directory and managing the Graduate Leader Fund are just two of Sue's key priorities.
