Chicken Licken

A favourite bedtime story for my sister and I. Chicken Licken has the unfortunate experience of being hit on his head by an acorn and amazingly believes that it is the sky falling down! A wonderful adventure persues where Chicken Licken meets Ducky Lucky, Goosey Lucy and Turkey Lurky on his way to tell the King that the sky is falling in. Tragically, on the final stetch of their journey they meet the sly Foxy Loxy, who tricks them into his den and they are never seen again.

Children really enjoy the rhyming names of the characters in the tale and enjoy finding suitable voices to represent them. Using masks and creating a den for the sly Foxy Loxy, we have explored the outdoor area to make our own journey to see the King. The sky is also an amazing resource. Take time to lie back and look at the changing sky and shapes of clouds that blow by. Children will see the most amazing shapes in the clouds which often represent the characters found in the tale.
