Early Years: Leading to Excellence	A review of Childcare and Early Education, 2005-2008, with a focus on organisation, leadership and management in order to promote positive outcomes for children and ensure they progress well.
Early Doors; Experiences for children in daycare during the first hour of the day	Evidence was collected from day nurseries in September 2008. Inspectors arrived as each nursery opened and inspected and analysed outcomes for children during the first hour of operation for those spending more than four hours in daycare. The nurseries visited were a mix of urban, inner-city and rural.
Early Years: Firm Foundations	Firm foundations covers the two-year period between April 2003 and March 2005 when Ofsted carried out the second programme of inspections against national standards. During that programme, for the first time, Ofsted has awarded each childminder or day-care provider registered by Ofsted a judgement on the quality of childcare. The publication is also available as a mini-site.
Early Years: Safe and Sound	A report on how registered childcare providers are helping children to Stay Safe and Be Healthy. A useful tool for use in improving practice in Lincolnshire settings.
Food for Thought: A Survey of Healthy Eating in Registered Childcare	This report considers the quality of food provided for children in schools and childcare. It is based on analysis of a short survey of healthy eating carried out at 110 settings across England.
Childcare Groups: A Passion to be Outstanding	What are the secrets of successful childcare? You can find out what outstanding providers told Ofsted in this leaflet. The leaflet also features good practice in the Early Years Foundation Stage, and include 10 questions for childcare providers to think about when reflecting on their practice.
