What is Early Support and how does it work in Lincolnshire?

Early Support is a national programme run by local councils and Primary Care Trusts across England. It is run together with parents, carers and practitioners to ensure that families are kept at the heart of discussion and decision-making about their child.

Lincolnshire’s Early Support Care Co-ordination Service (ESCO) is available to any family living in Lincolnshire who has a child or children under five with long term complex health needs or disabilities. They should also require support from two or more specialist agencies such as physiotherapy, portage, speech and language services or occupational therapy services. By providing a joined-up approach, the Early Support Care Co-ordination service aims to support every child who has complex needs to access the services they need.
