How can I prepare for the Early Years Foundation Stage?

Lead practitioners from all settings in Lincolnshire have been invited to participate in training by members of the Birth to Five Service in order to support them and their colleagues with the effective implementation of this framework. If you visit the training section in this website, there is a powerpoint presentation with notes to help you with informing staff, parents, committee members and governing bodies of the content and structure of the Early Years Foundation Stage. It is crucial that all stakeholders in your setting are aware of the framework for children in their early years of development. Additional training is listed in the Birth to Five Service training directories, 2008-2009.

The Birth to Five Service has compiled a ‘Self-Evaluation Booklet’ to support you with assessing some areas of the practice in your setting against the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
