The CLLD Programme is a funded national programme based on the recommendations of the Rose Review and on key lessons learned from the Early Reading Development pilot. The programme provides focussed support for early reading and writing, and speaking and listening - the four interdependent skills identified within the Rose Review recommendations for early reading. The programme's main expected outcome is clear and detailed evidence of children's progress and achievement at the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage in terms of both early reading and writing development.
As part of the programme, schools and settings are offered discrete support from a CLLD consultant and the opportunity to engage in professional development opportunities. Schools and settings may further benefit from additional support from leading teachers or Children's Centre Teachers.
