Indoor Physical Development Opportunties

Effective ‘Indoor  Physical Development Opportunities' will include many features.

  • Physical development takes place across all areas of learning. Opportunities for physical development can occur within many learning areas such as creative, role play, mark- making and PSRN.
  • Sometimes an indoor physical area may be developed to provide  specific physical development opportunities. For example, a ball pool, mats in an allocated space for rolling, crawling, jumping, and the exploration of textures.
  • Indoor physical areas can be used to develop fine motor skills such as threading beads and using peg boards.
  • Practitioners often use snack and meal routines periods as opportunities to develop physical skills and health awareness.
