'Positive Relationships' is one of the four complementary themes of the Early Years Foundation Stage. It is broken down into four commitments which highlight the crucial role early years practitioners have in working with parents to support the learning and development of children.

Principle:

Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person.

   
Warm, trusting relationships with knowledgable adults support children's learning more effectively than any amount of resources.
